Get Ryan Widmer’s never-before-Released, UNCUT statement!
Ten years ago, on Monday, August 11, 2008, 24-year-old Sarah Widmer drowned in her bathtub in a Cincinnati, Ohio suburb. It was the start of a hellish ordeal for everyone who knew her and her husband Ryan, then 27. Many complete strangers were deeply affected by the story of newlywed lovebirds torn apart, either by murder or by a medical mystery. Despite three trials and a conviction, many questions remain unresolved.
A summary of Ryan’s story is revealed in my book, Submerged: Ryan Widmer, his drowned bride and the justice system, released in July 2018. Now, for the first time, I’m releasing an UNCUT version of Ryan’s statement: what he says happened that night, just as he wrote it in a long-forgotten document found in the basement of his lawyer’s downtown Cincinnati office. I authenticated the undated document with a law firm secretary, who remembered it was created shortly after Ryan was charged with murder in August 2008.
Ryan told me he had no qualms about my releasing every word. So, verbatim, I am revealing the contents of that document, which lays out all the details of that fateful night, according to Ryan; an additional document also reveals what his mother, Jill, observed.
